The episode opens with a frantic call to the CID headquarters. A renowned architect, Mr. Verma, reports strange occurrences in his newly built mansion. He claims to hear disembodied voices whispering through the walls, driving him and his family to the brink of fear.
ACP Pradyuman, ever the skeptic, assigns Abhijeet and Daya to investigate. At the mansion, they interview a shaken Mr. Verma and his family. The whispers seem to come from everywhere and nowhere, causing paranoia. The officers find nothing amiss during their initial inspection.
Further investigation reveals a peculiar construction technique used in the mansion. The architect, in a bid to improve acoustics, had incorporated hidden ventilation shafts throughout the building. These shafts, coupled with the specific angles of certain walls, could be amplifying and distorting outside noises, creating the illusion of whispers.
Meanwhile, Dr. Salunkhe, analyzing dust samples from the mansion, discovers traces of a rare hallucinogenic plant. This suggests someone might be using the ventilation system to not only create the whispers but also induce hallucinations in the inhabitants.
CID sets up a trap. They use a recording of white noise pumped through the ventilation system. This disrupts the “whispers” and allows them to pinpoint the source – a hidden room within the mansion. Inside, they discover a disgruntled former employee of Mr. Verma, seeking revenge for being fired.
The episode ends with the culprit apprehended and the Verma family finally able to sleep soundly in their whisper-free home.
