Bauua Singh, a charming but short-statured man from Meerut, India, faces constant rejection in his search for a wife. Frustrated, he stumbles upon a photo of Aafia, a brilliant but wheelchair-using scientist. Intrigued, Bauua seeks her out, but their initial meeting is a disaster. Aafia, unimpressed by Bauua’s shallowness, throws him out.
Determined, Bauua changes his approach. He gets to know Aafia, appreciating her intelligence and resilience. A unique bond forms, and they fall in love. Despite societal pressures and their contrasting personalities, they get married. However, their happiness is short-lived. Feeling inadequate and insecure next to Aafia’s accomplishments, Bauua breaks up with her.
Meanwhile, Bauua develops a fascination with Babita, a glamorous Bollywood actress. He travels to Mumbai, hoping to win her affection. However, Babita, trapped in the superficial world of cinema, is initially aloof. Seeing through his facade, she becomes his friend, helping him understand his true desires.
Through his experiences with both Aafia and Babita, Bauua transforms. He realizes his shallowness and the depth of his love for Aafia. With newfound determination, he travels to America, where Aafia is working on a space mission.
There, a twist awaits him. Aafia, having moved on, is now engaged. However, she reveals a life-changing secret: she had their child and raised him alone. Overwhelmed with emotions, Bauua must confront his past mistakes and fight for his place in their lives.
The film’s climax explores themes of acceptance, self-discovery, and the true meaning of love. Does Bauua win back Aafia? How does he navigate fatherhood? “Zero” leaves the ending open to interpretation, prompting viewers to ponder the complexities of human relationships.
